“Many train, and many finish, but few train to finish with the win.”
In training we discipline and condition ourselves for a performance. Whether we are an athlete, teacher, entrepreneur, coach, speaker, artist, or a parent- we all must train. No on is exempt. How we train and the mindset we train with will be the difference between finishing with the W or only finishing.
Apostle Paul asks “don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” I Corinthians 9:24-27.
There is a prize predestined for us that will not fade away, but we must get clear on what our individual course is. We innately dominate every single time when we are in our lane running our race. This is not because of how good we are, but because God in all of His greatness chose us to manifest His specific purpose. With that said, God doesn’t want us swinging at air. He does not want us aimlessly wandering. His desire is that we would go through our days with an understanding of what it is He has chosen us to.
It is only through intimate time with our Father that we receive divine training. It is during that time that our minds are renewed. He will reveal to us exactly what adjustments we need to make to position us for the Win. He has also given us the playbook, His Word, to study so that we will be eligible when it is game time. From the very beginning we were designed to finish with the win, so let’s train like it!
